Stage 15 of the Giro Italia!

It was the 2nd time I’ve seen the Giro. Back in 2008 I drove halfway across Italy with Jake Wetzel to watch a sprint finish. Â This year they were kind enough to come right past our hotel.
I was excited to see a fellow Canadian Ryder Hesjedal in the Pink. My brother used to race against Ryder and I’m sure he remembers me as “Alistair’s little brother”.  I had hoped to get a good photo of Ryder but he was back in the middle of the Peleton and not with the Garmin train in front. (in the photo below you can just see Ryder far right at the back in the pink helmet)

Taking photos of the Giro was cool. I got myself in a good position right on the front of a roundabout. From there it was easy to catch the action. Whatever action there was, 40km into a 169km mountain top finish stage.
